This is My Story
Dr. Thomas D. Berg received his M.D. from the University of Iowa in 1996. He completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) in 2000 serving as Assistant Chief Resident followed by Chief Resident during his tenure. He then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology at UIHC in 2001.
In addition to serving as Radiologist / Medical Director at Southern Iowa Open MRI (SIOMRI), Dr. Berg shares his time as Radiologist / Medical Director at U.S. MRI in South Jordan, Utah. In this role, he serves as the official medical provider / team physician for the following:

Dr. Berg serves on the Utah Athletic Association Medical Board and provides MRI consultations for numerous athletes from the following organizations:

Dr. Berg has been practicing Radiology for 20 yrs and has interpreted over 100,000 MRI examinations. He serves as a MSK manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Roetgenology (AJR) and has written several textbook chapters on spine and joint injections.
Dr. Berg is a member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology and American Society of Spine Radiology among other Radiology organizations.
Dr. Berg resides in Iowa City with his family with frequent trips to U.S. MRI in Utah. He is an avid skier and cyclist.
